Overmolding on a cord

With braiding plants on one side of our group and a plastic injection molding plant and mold-making facilities on the other, the logical next step was to directly overmold plastic parts onto all kinds of cords, braids, bungee cords, and straps.

Many of our customers who already purchase sewn components from us are looking for products that are more aesthetically pleasing, more technically advanced, or more cost-effective than what our garment factories can offer. In such cases, we switch to plastic overmolding on textiles.

This technique requires a great deal of experience, because initially there is a discrepancy between the very tight tolerances of the plastics industry and the much looser tolerances of braiding, twisting, or weaving processes.

For decades, Sagaert Plastique has had complete mastery over this issue thanks to the full industrial integration of each of the components it uses.

In fact, it was through overmolding on textiles that we began to expand into injection-molded plastics, and then into blow-molded and machined plastics!

The overmolded dog leash shown in this image has, over the years, established Sagaert Plastique as a manufacturer of pallets, automotive parts, test tubes, medical tests, and more.
