Overmolding on rope
With braiding plants on one side of our group, a plastic injection plant and mold-making units on the other, the next logical step was to directly overmold plastic parts onto all kinds of cords, braids, bungee cords and straps.
Many of our customers who already buy sewn components from us are looking for more aesthetic, more technical or more economical elements than our garment factories can offer. In such cases, we switch to plastic-on-textile overmolding.
This technique requires a great deal of experience, because at the outset, there's a discrepancy between the very narrow tolerances of the plastics industry and those of the braiding, twisting and weaving processes.
Sagaert Plastique has been perfectly mastering this problem for decades, thanks to its total industrial integration of each of the components used.
In fact, it was through textile overmolding that we began to develop our injected, then blown and machined plastics!
The overmolded dog leash you see in this picture has made Sagaert plastics, over the years, a manufacturer of pallets, automotive parts, analysis vials, medical tests, etc ...
But our experience in textile overmolding has only grown stronger in the meantime...
